In this chapter we have tackled the problem of how to transform a differential equation into a discrete equation that can then be solved by means of numerical modeling. The equations are discretised according to the need of satisfying constraints in accuracy and mostly stability. Every term shows different characteristics and must be dealt with separately. The sections above have shown how to find out if a chosen scheme is stable, and under what conditions. After this, the scheme may be applied to the equation and combined with other schemes to solve more complex equations such as the shallow water equation.
