摘要

This paper describes a project which is developing a simulated economic environment in which operates arnvirtual supply chain based on the manufacturing and sales of personal computers. The supply chain is modeledrnin SAP R/3. The project is called the SAP Student Marketplace for the Advancement of Research and Trainingrn(SAP SMART).rnThe aim of the project is to develop a richly populated simulation environment in which participating institutesrnof higher learning will be able to develop and deliver world-class, technology-enabled business andrnmanagement education programs utilizing the mySAP.com e-business applications to their full extent. Potentialrnusers of this system include all members of the SAP University Alliance Program which currently consists ofrnover 300 universities in the USA, Australia, Europe, South America and Asia.rnThere are five universities developing this virtual marketplace consisting of three US, one South American, andrnone Australian Universities. Thus, the development of this teaching environment is an example of collaborationrnand teamwork among people from different cultures and backgrounds. Its extensions will continue therninternational collaboration by extending to Europe and Asia.
