The Coastal Systems Station (CSS) recently completed an initial demonstration of an innovatve and cost-effective approach to the command and control of unmanned maritime vehicles (UMV). The new concept is that of UMVs performing littoral warfare missions while operating under the joint Tactical Control System (TCS). TCS is currently under development by the joint U. S. services for control of tactical unnanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
