摘要

The goal of this work is to determine the aging characteristics of nickel and ruthenium cathodes in KOH solution for lithium-water batteries. AC impedance was used along with an equivalent circuit model to show the aging characteristics of the cathode. A constant phase element (CPE) is used to model the sunken semicircles in the complex plane for the cathodes. The AC impedance data show that the kinetics are faster for the ruthenium than they are for the nickel in 8M KOH under hydrogen evolution.
