The seismic response of the sub-sea tunnel is important for its stability, especially with transversely isotropic. Based on QINGDAO sub-sea tunnel, the typical section and the Elcentro earthquake wave are adopted, and the viscoelastic artificial boundary is used to weaken the reflection effect. The analysis is performed with dynamic finite element method code ABAQUS, then all of the velocities, accelerations at survey points, the stress of lining and the displacement of vault can be gotten from the numerical simulation. It is easy to draw the conclusion that each time-history curve satisfies the earthquake wave form, the aseismatic weak location are vault, motherboard and side-wall where the compressive stress and tension stress are greater than the other places. Furthermore, the aseismatic capability of QINGDAO sub-sea tunnel satisfies the safety request according to the rules. The conclusions are useful for other similar sub-sea tunnel engineering.
