This paper presents final design information for the Botanie Lake Dam Rehabilitation and outlines the procedures and process used to complete final design and construction of the rehabilitation works. The work was carried out consistent with CDA Guidelines relative to the Hazard Rating of the Structure. Information is provided on hydrology, dam fill reconstruction, construction of new low level outlet works and a new gabion lined spillway structure. The gabion spillway is believed to be the first of its type constructed in B.C. and was adopted because of paucity of local economic riprap materials and remoteness of the site. First Nation historic sites were discovered in the reconstruction area at the commencement of construction which contributed to delays in the project due to the need for archaeological investigations and studies. However, the work was completed on time and within budget.
