SEDIMENT TRANSPORT MODELING IN WATERSHED AND RIVER FOR THE LOESS ZONE IN CHINA

Based on a large amount of field data of erosion and sediment yield in loess zonewith different natural and social circumstances, the runoff in depth and the sedimentyield in a small watershed for one storm were derived. A large basin can be dividedinto a series of small watersheds linked by rivers. The universal river and reservoirsedimentation model was adopted. With the equations in small watersheds andexisting mathematical river model, a mathematical model for prediction of sedimentyield in a large basin for one storm has been established. The calibration of its resultsof the model is satisfactory.
