The jute fibers are among one of the most used lignocellulosic materials for rustic simple products as fabric, carpets, ropes and baskets. In recent decades, these fibers began to be investigated as reinforcement of polymer composites. This work performed a DMA analysis for the dynamic-mechanic parameters with temperature variation in jute fiber composites with epoxy matrix. Different percentages of jute, up to 30% in volume, were mixed with epoxy resin and cured for 24 hours at room temperature. The DMA analysis, performed in the composites, determined the temperature variation of the storage modulus (E'), the elastic properties of loss modulus (E"), and the plastic properties of glass transition temperature (tan δ). An increase in the viscoelastic stiffness of the composite was found with jute fiber incorporation.
