Abstract: The possibility of improving the image of a coherently reflected object under active illumination by a collimated laser beam through turbulence is experimentally investigated. It is demonstrated that when light travels to and from the object through the same inhomogeneities of the turbulent medium, the time-averaged image has higher quality than with independent propagation.!8
