Ionic liquids 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumEthyl sulfate (EMISE) +H2O mixture exhibit properties which render them suitable as candidates for working pairs in absorption heat pumps or chills. The excess enthalpies (H E ) of binary system for EMISE with water were measured at different temperature (T=303.15k, 313.15k, 323.15k) under the pressure of 0.1MPa over the range of mole composition of EMISE from 0.1 to 0.7 by an adiabatic mixing-heating apparatus. The results show that the mixing heat of the system investigated was negative. The experimental excess enthalpies (H E ) data were correlated using NRTL model in which linear temperature dependent interaction parameters were used. The results validated that the NRTL model can be used to describe the excess enthalpies well.
