Studies on Dwarfing Cultivation Technique and Pattern of Mulberry-shoot Harvesting in Mulberry

With an objective to develop new technique for mulberry culture, we utilized Guangdong hybridized mulberry high resistant to pruning as experimental material in this research. The technique of dwarfing culture pattern and its multiple mulberry-shoots harvesting was investigated. The results suggested that under the cultivation conditions of super-high planting density and dwarfing, annual mulberry leaf yield may exceed 30000kg/ha, equaling the yield from fertile field. The mulberry-shoots may be harvested multiply in the spring, summer and autumn respectively. The harvest efficiency is 2~3 times higher than that of traditional harvesting of mulberry leaves. We believed that the dwarfing culture pattern has promising application and should be developed.
