This paper describes the development of a "Virtual Prototype System" for a PDA (personal digital assistant) using the CoWare N2C~TM design system and a Motorola MPC 603e PowerPC~TM processor. This "Virtual Prototype System" is used by the software developm,ent team as a development platform while the real hardware is still being designed and debugged. This methodology significantly speeds the design cycle, as the software development team does not have to wait for the hard-ware design team to complete its work before starting development.
