Along with the development of the shipping industry, marine transportation gradually complicated, and the accident of ships collision, run aground and hit a reef are still the big problems that affect to sail safety. For making" sail more safe, the ocean is more clean", the ships avoid to collision is still the problem which of the people of the voyage academe concern at large in the new century. Navigation automatization is the ultimate guarantee to increase the safety and economy of the ships voyage, and ships collision avoidance automatization is a key problem that affects navigation automatization. This paper firstly aims at this fact that the artificial factor is the main reason of the accident about ships collision, run aground and hit a reef along with the present condition of local sailor troops, discusses the necessity of the ships collision avoidance automatization, and points out that the navigation automatization must be come true with position develop in the new century; Then it expatiates the fundamental components and its main function about the navigation automatization system, and indicates that ships automatic collision avoidance is the key to realize navigation automatization in the end, in accordance with present condition of the navigation automatization; Immediately after it emphatically discusses the research actuality and the existent key problems about the ship automatic collision avoidance, and what influence for collision avoidance automatization will be produced by the new navigational technique; Finally it pointes out that the ships automatic collision avoidance is an urgent need for the solution's problem.
