The short outline of random dot autoslereograms is presented. First a concise historical sketch of basic notions and concepts used in theory of stereoscopy is reminded. Then two principal techniques of the random dot aulostereograms perception are explained. At last the design of aulostereograms is shortly discussed, as well as the mechanisms which enable perception of these stimuli.
