摘要

This paper describes processes by which many periodic permanent magnet type TWT amplifier tubes have been optimized for improved power output by systematically adjusting the helix potential, drive level and externally perturbating the magnetic field. This process tends to reduce the power bandwidth characteristic of the tube in that it utilizes a narrow band signal source and optimizes the various operating parameters for a particular frequency and, of course, maximum power output.
