As one begins to operate the bands above 1296 MHz, the need for an antenna that is not a yagi becomes evident. Although the "looper" and the " super looper" are fine antennas, the gain verses construction capabilities of the average ham workshop starts to drop off rapidly. The ability to build your own loopers for 2304 MHz and 3456 MHz that work well and are mechanically rigid are very difficult.
