摘要

The increase of broadcasting channels entails shortage of the contents. To provide new content creation environment, we have developed the Network-based Editing System for Large-scale Video Archive, and report it here. The total system consists of three essential facilities. These are the large-scale video archive system that can store 7,200 rolls of videocassettes (15,000 hours recording time), the remote controllable main editing facilities and the remote terminal. The main editing facilities are equipped with a High Definition Television editing system, a Standard Definition Television editing system and a local server. This local server plays the roll of combining different synchronous systems such as the video archive system and the main editing facilities. The remote terminal retrieves the video archive and also controls the main editing facilities, which are 10km distance from the remote terminal in the experiment. The optical fiber connects these facilities.
