Due to its many unique physical and chemical properties, carbon nanotubes have received much attention as the potential building block for a wide variety of applications as well as the material for the research of basic nanoscale science. This paper will review some the approaches being developed to achieve controlled placement of carbon nano-tubes on substrates to facilitate the fabrication of electronic devices such as transistors, chem/bio sensors, and field emission sources.
