This paper covers the implementation of high speed machining into the toolmaking environment at Materialise UK. The problems it generated as well as the problems it solved. High Speed machining is not the complete solution but forms just a part of a total solution. We had the implementation of CAD software for tool design and the CAM software for programming to contend with as well. This is the Materialise solution to the problem and may be of help to others who also intend on taking this high-speed machining route.
