摘要

The paper presents an overview of some of the tools developed by the Matsushita Electric Industrial Group for the management of environmental issues across their products' life cycle. These tools are referred to as the Matsushita Environmental Tool Kit, and include applications that seek to influence the design of our products, the selection of suppliers, and the control of component substance composition. The paper provides background information on the Matsushita group, before outlining some of the elements within the Matsushita Environmental Tool Kit, and drivers that influenced its development. The paper concludes by proposing the greatest challenge that Matsushita and other organizations in the electrical and electronics sector face as we improve the eco-efficiency of our future products and services; effective supply chain management.
