The high-frequency electrodeless lamps (HF EDL-s) are known as bright radiators of narrow and intensive spectral lines, covering the spectrum from VUV to IR. They are characterised by high intensity, high stability and long lifetime. HF EDL-s are applied in various scientific devices such as radiation and absorption spectrometers, spectrometers for angle and glass refractive index measurements, frequency standards, magnetometers. The HF EDL-s are used as intensive emission spectra sources in scientific experiments, such as double-resonance experiments, sensitised fluorescence experiments, spectral line shift and broadening measurements. Our HF EDL technology, allowing preparing new type EDL-s with different elements, is gradually developed during quite long time period. HF EDL performance depends strongly on many preparation conditions: the material of the vessel; the method of cleaning; the type and amount of buffer gas; the amount of the working element. In addition, the spectral properties are also strong dependent on the working regime. Therefore, a spectroscopic diagnostics and an optimisation of all parameters, both are needed for every application to get the necessary spectral characteristics. This work is devoted to the preparation and investigation of Ar, He, Xe, Kr, Ne and Hg electrodeless lamps.
