The experimental investigation of the first precast bi-pre-stressing simplerngirder concrete bridge in China, the Da-Tun Bridge, is presented. The structure andrnfabrication of the bridge, especially the post-tensioning reinforcement setup of thernupper end of the girder, are introduced. In addition, the details of the comprehensiverntests on the Da-Tun Bridge, including pre-stressing loss measurement and analysis,rnstatic tests, and live loading tests, are also presented. The corresponding majorrnbuilding technologies are tested and improved after the experiments. Finally, thernload carrying capacity of the girder and the operating performance of the Da-TunrnBridge are evaluated. Some issues arose in this bi-pre-stressing practice and arnpossible solution is presented as well.
