摘要

A description of the damage assessment process provides emergency technical services for vessels that experience an incident that may affect the stability or structural strength of the vessel or require provision of technical analytical services intended to support decision-making process. The scope of damage stability verification uses the required damage stability standards considering approved KG/GM limit curve(s) or approved stability instrument software used to satisfy the stability requirements and to verify compliance considering damage scenarios to be determined and assessed taking into account the damage stability criteria. Technical societies, such as RINA, have a responsibility to keep their members aware of regulatory trends and contribute to the expertise of their members to the development of soundly formulated standards. Initiatives for ensuring that important issues are recognized and acted on to influence the outcome have considered safety levels during the last years in these Damage Stability Conferences. This paper shed light on safety levels and can encourage other members with influence at the national and international levels to considerrnalternative approaches.
