Health care students and practicing specialists find it difficult to choose appropriate data processing methods when preparing bachelor's theses, master's theses and other scholarly research papers. The main problem here is that there is an insufficient emphasis in the literature on characteristic sets of words in English, and links among these sets are presented in a way which both specialists and students find hard to comprehend and utilise. The authors of this paper have proposed an information system which emphasises characteristic sets of words in English and linkages among same. It would be more useful for students to work with data referring to real patients, but that would be illegal. That is why the authors focus on generation of data on the basis of statistical indicators from scholarly publications. Students and practicing specialists can use the information system for educational purposes or in a test regime. In the educational regime, the generated data files and relevant characteristic sets of words can be reviewed. The test regime examines knowledge about the characteristic sets of words. The proposed information system has been tested during a traditional educational process at a university, as well as through individual training. Participations in this process were tested, and they completed surveys. The results confirmed the effectiveness of the approach and the system alike.
