In mild environment such as Gulf of Guinea, Bouygues Offshore proposes barge-type floaters asrnsupport for deepwater discoveries.rnThe paper describes how different typical deepwater field development schemes in mildrnenvironmental areas such as the Gulf of Guinea can be envisaged with spread moored barge designsrnderiving from the Multi Function Barge (MFB?).rnThe paper will underline how the different barge configurations afford such a flexibility andrnversatility and will also show that recent tank tests demonstrated the design reliability.rnThe different field development solutions will be discussed in terms of cost savings and compared asrnfar as possible with other solutions currently proposed by offshore industry.
