摘要

In the present study the cyclic flow properties of the ball bearing steel SAE52100 are studied with strain controlled fully reversed tests. The effect of the phase transformation of retained austenite into martensite is studied specially. The experimental information was used as input for a constitutive model to be used in finite element calculations. Due to the high stress levels during testing the elastic response becomes non-linear. Young's modulus as a function of stress was evaluated. A finite element constitutive model was formulated taking into account non-linear elasticity, volume expansion during transformation from austenite to martensite, transformation plasticity, kinematic and isotropic hardening. Results are presented from verification of the model.
