Australia is selected once again to be one of the first countries to install the updated Powerwall Battery solution (Powerwall 2.0 system) due to its tariff structure, high solar radiation values, and high electricity prices. This updated version stores double the energy (13.2 kWh), is 30% smaller in size and similar in cost. The aim of this paper is to analyze the economic feasibility of four scenarios in five Australian states (ACT, SA, VIC, NSW, and QLD) to determine which scenario and respective state presents the highest investment attractiveness. Scenarios 1 and 2 consider a Powerwall 2.0 system in a residential setting in which the first is associated to an off-grid 5 kW PV system and the latter is associated to an on-grid 3 kW PV system that practices a 100% self-consumption regime. Scenario 3 considers a standalone Powerwall 2.0 system that is charged by the household grid and discharged back into the same grid without a PV system connection. Scenario 4 considers a standalone on-grid 3 kW PV system that practices a 70% self-consumption regime and exports the rest to the distribution grid without a Powerwall 2.0 system connection. The results show that scenario 1 is profitable in Victoria and Queensland. Scenario 2 is not profitable in any of the chosen Australian states. While scenario 3 is profitable in Victoria and New South Wales and scenario 4 is profitable in all four states except for the Australian Capital Territory state.
