During environmental investigations in Lithuania it was noticed that the data related with concentrations of oil products in groundwater are different when carrying out different projects.rnGroundwater samples from the same sites were taken at the different time and analysed using various methods. So some differences concentrations are natural. Significant errors were made in sampling procedure and preparing of sample for analysis and these factors caused essential differences in data.rnHowever, various laboratories have different possibilities of determining different organics in water so a set of analysis carried out at particular sites could be very useful as well as continuos groundwater quality monitoring at the selected sites.
