The effects of different concentrations of silicate mineral materials on the production of methane by anaerobicrnfermentation were investigated using acetate and glucose as substrates. Compared with the control group in the absence ofrnsilicate, the experimental results show that the production of total gas and methane was inhibited by adding silicate with acetaternas the carbon and energy source. However, when glucose was used as substrate, the production of total gas and methane wasrnimproved in the presence of silicate.
