When traditianl alkaline scouring of desized cotton fabrics wa spreceded by cellulse enzymatic treatment,two benefits were observede.Beside significant increase in whiteness of fabrices,enhanced removal and alkaline degradation of seed-coat fragment were achieved.Commercial cellulase enzyem wa sapplied berfore the cuastic scourign process,in 1-10 g/l concentration fr 0.5-8 hours at pH 5.0 and at 50 deg C.Enzyme treatment alone resultd in 14-21
