摘要

In this work a new and specific electrochemical microcell has been designed. The HeatAffected Zone (HAZ) of a welded joins of austenitic stainless steel type AISI 316L hasbeen characterized by means of this microcell. The design of the microcell has beendone having in mind the microstructual features of the HAZ which will be explained inthis study. The electrochemical methods applied to the HAZ has been the AnodicPolarization Test (ASTM G-5) and the Electrochemical Potentio-Kinetic ReactivationTest (EPR) (ASTM G-108). A complete scanning of the HAZ has been performed andthe results were correlated to its microstructural features. On this way becomes possibleto study a typical inhomogeneous microstructuree such as the Heat Affected Zone of awelded join.
