A proposal for the seismic vulnerability reduction of historical masonry structures by using control techniques is described. The proposal is applied to a case study, the Minaret of Larnaca, Cyprus. Comparative analytical results for both cases, with and without vibration control devices, show the significant improvement of the structural performance of the structure, under seimic actions.
