This paper focuses on the methodology of coexistence studies between UWB automotive short range radar (SRR) and and exisiting and planned radio services at W-band frequencies. Interference mitigating effects are discussed to get a more realistic view of the wave propagation and of the interference probably to be expected in this frequency range. Furthermore, a probabilitiy of interference is introduced due to the influence of the topography on the area interfered by SRR systems and their activity only for a fraction of the total time available. Hereby a novel approach for the area interfered by SRR using directional antennas is introduced. Moreover, it can be assumed, that several victim services in the W-band frequency range incorporate only a low number of devices. The sharing study methodology at W-band frequencies is exemplarily demonstrated considering the probable interference of radio amateur services (RAS) operating around 79 GHz by a single SRR operating in the same frequency range.
