P/Z plots of tight gas reservoirs are generally curved and can deviate strongly from the theoretical straight line plots. In amny cases these curved p/z plots can still be sensibly interpreted. The key to the interpretation is the semi-steady-state time. Even if no valid interpretation is possible, a p/z plot is still a powerful diagnostic tool. If no satisfactory p/zs analysis is possible, one has to resort to history matching of shut-in bottomahole pressures and of continuously measured wellhead pressures by means of a numerical reservoir simulator.
