Sanitary landfill remain an attractive disposal route for household, commercial and industrial waste, as it is more economical than alternative solutions. The landfill biodegradation processes are complex, including many factors that control the progression of the waste mass to final stage. The trends in biogas production and associated risk are presented as a result of change in waste composition and management. The main aim of this paper is to investigate the effects of different disposed waste compositions and variable waste management conditions in order to enhance-accelerate landfill stabilisation and control the associated risks. Projections of SIMGASRISK model are made between several experimental and big scale landfill cases giving useful conclusions.
