During the preparation of the centennial of SUPELEC, eight second-year students proposed the realization of two consumer products based on dedicated integrated circuits: an automatic phone dialler and a self illuminating badge based on an eight-bit microprocessor. The general architecture of the badge is detailed in this paper.
