摘要

In this article we present a tracking algorithm for estimatingrnand filtering two-dimensional trajectories of vehiclesrnand various other obstacles that may occur in a traffic scenario.rnThis is important for developing a robust headwayrnalert application which need reliable position and velocityrninformation of potential dangerous obstacles in the path of arncar. The algorithm is based on range and angular data fromrna laser range finder which is mounted in front of the hostrncar. This data are filtered by a Kalman filter and processedrnin order to generate reliable obstacle distance and movementrninformation.
