Cutting simulation of the curved pipe's intersection line based on UG and Vericut

The intersection structure of curved pipe is widely applied in modern building; however, there are still many technical problems to cut the intersection line of curved pipe. This paper analyzes the complexity of this type of intersection line, and proposes a new solution to cut it. In order to verify the feasibility of the cutting, a five-axis linkage simulation of cutting is conducted in UG and Vericut software. The trajectory of cutting torch is planned and its cutting error is tested, then the moving pose of cutting torch is programmed by post-processor module in UG. One cutting equipment model is established in Vericut, a kind of multi-axis NC simulation software, and also the movement pose of cutting torch is simulated. The NC program has been verified by Auto-Differ module in Vericut. The simulation process will provide a theoretical guidance for the development of curved pipe cutting equipment.
