摘要

The elements that characterise the air conditions at home or office are air temperature, air humidity and air gases concentrations. If temperature and humidity are the physical quantities involved in "conditioning" of indoor air for comfort reasons, the measurement of the gases concentrations is related with life safety. In the paper, a distributed virtual instrument for indoor air monitoring based on a multi-parameter intelligent sensor (MPIS) is presented. The MPIS, based on a microcontroller (PIC16F877), is connected using a RS232 interface to the control, processing and communication unit (ex. PC), that works as a measurement server. Based on LabVIEW, a program is developed to perform data sensor acquisition, alarm generation imposed by conditions related to air gas concentration levels or fault detection. The protocol used for communication is of the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
