In its natural state, the lithium element consists of two stable isotopes , ~6Li and ~7Li. The natural abundance of lithium isotopes is given, on average, as approximately 7percent of ~6Li and 93percent of ~7Li. The study of lithium isotopic effects is important, not only for industrial nuclear science, but also for fundamental material and geological sciences.
