The cathodic reduction of trichloroethylene (TCE) in acetonitrile with tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBAT) solution by using Pb modified graphite as working electrode was studied. The major parameters, such as Tafel plots and transfer coefficient of TCE dechlorination were obtained. The results showed that both the Tafel slope and transfer coefficient increased with increasing concentration of TCE. Additionally, the effect of TCE concentration on the reaction rate indicated that the reaction order of TCE was 1.03. The rate constant of mass transfer control was 3.05~*10~(-4) (cm-s)~(-1).
