Diffusion is the most important part of innovation process. Without diffusion, the social and economical meaning of innovation is missing. Thus, doing researches from an innovation diffusion point of view is one of effective ways to promote EB technology to exert potential. It is helpful to explain why some factors have effects on firms to adopt EB technology by doing systemic research theoretically and empirically.rnBandwagon theory is better to explain some problems of new technology's diffusion. It's difficult for firms to estimate the productiveness of new technology because of many uncertain factors. So their introduction into new technology is mainly driven by bandwagon pressure rather than consciousness of productiveness, in other words bandwagon promote to diffusion of new technology effectively. The bandwagon pressure of innovation affects innovation diffusion and firm's accepting of innovation behavior. However, as EB technology is a kind of innovation which can be adopted by stages as Rogers says, when can not understand the significance of EB in deed or can not evaluate the return of EB technology, firms may not have more investment or take more risk rather than adopt "imperfectness" EB whose application degree and range increase gradually. Hence, EB technology diffuses step by step.rnPast researches on new technology diffusion is under the condition that new technology has productiveness affirmatively. There are little studies about bandwagon effects on new technology diffusion, say nothing of empirical study of a certain technology. For well- publicized new technology such as electronic-business technology, its diffuse process is much more suitable to explain by bandwagon theory. The paper wants to supply referenced advice for government to correctly constitute policy about EB promoting by doing empirical study to EB technology diffusion of manufacturing firms.rnThe results show that the bandwagon pressure played a positive role on the adoption of EB Technology in firms. The bandwagon pressure made an important effect on the EB diffusion.. Firstly, the bandwagon promoted the diffusion of the new information technology. Secondly, the firms and the society accept the EB technology generally because of the promotion by the bandwagon, so the EB technology can be exerted most efficiently. Thirdly, the significance of the bandwagon is that it forces the firm begin the learning of the new technology.rnThe data of this research is collected only in the manufacture industry, so whether the conclusion of this research can be applied in other industries must be verified.
