摘要

The facts in petroleum refining and petrochemical industry as listed in the paper show that the difference in the selection of Chinese words and characters in scientech terminology in Chinese scientech publications in different regions have affected the exchanges of information and the share of information data. This is unfavorable for the development of economy, trade science and technology. The author holds that is a new subject in the research of information science and suggests that a coordination committee of standardization of scientech Chinese language and Chinese characters (including Chinese characters used in Japanese and in Korean) be established with the participation of such countries and regions as the people's Republic of China, Chinese Taibei, Hongkong, Macao, Singapore, Japan and Korea, etc. For the joint study of standardization of scientech terminology, mainly the uniformity of scientech terms and uniformity of simplify Chinese characters to accommodate to the increasing importance of Chinese in international affairs and machine conversion of Chinese scientech terminology with other languages, so that a great contribution can be made to the globalization of Chinese and further prosoperity of each region.
