摘要

The challenge of the "Post-PC" era is to establish new horizontal (large volume) products in categories that meet the users' expectation of that device. An "Internet Appliance" space filled with numerous dissimilar products confuses users and inhibits market growth. To bring "Internet Appliances" and other "Post-PC" devices to the masses, the industry must identify a few key cateogries of products and make them accommodate a efined level of compatibility. The industry must strive to promote well defined devices to the users, setting their understnaidng and expectation of the devices' capabilities. These products must be so well understood that they are seen in a variety of stores. Until then the IA industry will continue to develop niche products and remain on the periphery of the PC market.
