The integration of sensing and actuating devices in wearable systems could enable developments in man-machine interfaces. This talk reports results and perspectives for the realisation of such systems, using electroactive polymers as active elements. In particular, a sensorized glove and a sensorized leotard, using piezoresistive conducting polymer sensors, are shown. Actuating configurations based on artificial muscles are analysed to realise the active components of the glove and the leotard.
