The resin film infusion process is a novel industrial process for polymer matrix composites manufacturing. However, this process is complex and the final properties of the composite material are strongly dependent on the cure conditions. Conventional electric sensors cannot be used to monitor this process due to their high intrusivity. The paper presents two fibre optic sensors which can be embedded into the composite material: a fibre Bragg grating sensor and a fibre optic sensor based on the principle of Fresnel's reflection. The fibre Bragg grating sensor allows to control the cure temperature in-situ and to detect the occurrence of internal stresses. The second sensor is dedicated to the monitoring of the resin cross-linking. These two sensors have been successfully validated by comparison with conventional sensors.
