Numerical Investigation on the Structural Performance of PFRP Frame Connections

This paper presents the results of a comprehensive numerical investigation program on structural behavior of semi-rigid composite connections. Several finite element codes were used in this program to confirm the validity of the different models developed in this study. Both linear and non-linear analyses were performed. The FE model included the effect of the flexibility of beam-to-column connections as well as the partial restrain of the web/flange junction of open-web pultruded fiber reinforced polymer (PFRP) profiles. All models were compared to full-scale experimental results from a prior investigation. This paper presents a part of the study using NASTRAN FE code.
