Yesanpo National Geopark is located in Laishui County in Hebei Province, and on north of the Zi jingguan Fault. Baili Gorge, which total length is up to 52.5km, is constituted with three separate gorges. It is developed in the chert lenticular dolomite of Wumishan Formation in the Middle Proterozoic on the eastern side of Zijingguan fault. It is the predominant origin of the gorge that the four-stage Mesozoic-Cenozoic great and vertical joint systems, especially the S-N trending 'zigzag extensional joint set' in Himalayan period. It is the direct ero sion of the gorge that the rapid uplift of crust and the exogenic physical weathering in Pleistocene, especially the temporary torrent erosion by the flood in mountain at the Late Pleistocene. Baili Structural-erosion Gorge is a spe cial kind of karst geomorphic types.
