hree parallel rivers belt, which is named after Jinsha river, lancang river and Nujiang river of northwest yunnan province of China, was certificated to be one of the world natural her itages, in accordance with the Criteria I , II, III and IV, all the Criteria of " World Convention for Natural Properties", on July 2, 2003.1 Status of the Geological Traces in the World Heritage Being in the plates' stylolite, a special geological environment, the sight of three parallel rivers was formed as a special geological-tectonic traces, which reflects the important periods and events of the evolution of earth, such as the evolution of Tethys region, collision between Indian plate and Eurasian plate, formation of Hengduanshan Mountain huge intracontinental orogenic belt and uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
