摘要

Dihydropteridine reductase (DHPR) , catalyzes the reduction of quinonoid dihydropteri-dine back to tetrahydrobiopterin. It is also essemtial for the biosynthesis of dopoamine and serotonin. Patients lacking the reductase would be expected to have not only the symptoms of classic PKU , but also the progressive neurological degeneration due to the severe impairment in the biosynthesis of these netrotransmitters.
